It has 178,000 miles but engine has only 8000 miles on it and performance transmission has only 6000 miles
I’ve owned this car since 1994. It has been garaged kept the entire time and has never seen rain while I owned it.
The exterior: The bumpers, side molding and fenders have been changed to 1996 style. The body molding and door handles have been painted to match giving it a very clean look. The car was repainted using GM’s Med. Garnet Red paint. Extra clear was added, then wet sanded and buffed to a very nice looking clean wet look. Also included is the painted hard top.
The wheels have been changed to the very popular chrome 5 spoke C4 ZR-1 Rims. The front rims are the 17” x 9.5” with 275/40/17 tires and the rear is the massive 17”x11” rims with wide 315/35/17. The rear rims have the correct offset so they fit perfectly. It’s as much tire as you can stuff in the rear.
The interior: The carper has been replaced with the exact OEM color that came with the car. The weather stripping and door molding has been replace. The instrument cluster is fully operational and I have replaced all the bulbs and LCD screens. The radio has been replaced with the Pioneer Am/Fm CD and the Bose stereo system was retained. The dash, center console and door handles come with a nice wood grain trim.
The Front Brakes have been upgraded to the ZR-1 twin pistons with 13” rotors. Rear brakes are stock.
The Engine: The stock engine was replaced with a fully modified 350, only 8000 miles on it. This engine is full roller motor, meaning everything in the valve train is roller. The cam is a competition cams roller hydraulic cam with matching lifters and duel timing chain. It has Comp cams 1.5 intake and 1.6 exhaust roller rockers. It is fitted with a high volume oil pump for extra insurance. Pistons are forged flat tops with Eagle rods and forged crank with ARP bolts throughout engine.
The heads are AFR -210 heads with $3000.00 worth of port work done to them by Air Flow Research. They flow big block numbers. Valve springs have been set up to accommodate the 23 psi of boost from the D1 Procharger supercharger. Additionally, Spark is controlled by a much more accurate crank trigger wheel and MSD 6AL Ignition box.
The intercooler has been removed and replaced with a more efficient Snow Alcohol/water injection system that uses Boost Juice (purchased from summit racing $43.00 for 4 gallons, very reasonable). The reason for replacing the intercooler was to achieve more boost quicker and to cut down on the airflow restriction to the radiator. The water injection comes on at 8psi of boost, so it is never on during normal driving conditions all controlled by the ECM.
Larger fuel supply line was installed to accommodate the 85lb fuel injectors fed by a high performance Aeromotive A1000 fuel pump.
The engine is cooled by Be Cool’s performance radiator with matching duel fans. The intake is TPIS Big Mount intake with matching Large Tube runners, and a 58mm throttle body. A/C system was retained with the build as you can see in the pics. The engine is controlled by a fully tunable MegaSquirt EFI system.
The exhaust: Headman 1 3/4″ Shorty ceramic coated headers that flows into true 3″ dual stainless steel exhaust and finally into a pair of Flowmaster Mufflers.
The troublesome 700R4 transmission was replaced with a high performance 4L60E transmission and has only 6000 miles on it. It’s upgrades including beast sun shell, Red Eagle clutches throughout, 500 boost valve, Wide band, HP servo, reinforced input drum and a custom 10” converter with 12” carbon fiber lock up rated to 1000 HP. The stock corvette stall speed was retained to give it a snappy launch off the line. The transmission is controlled by MSD’s transmission controller.
The car was tuned using it’s auto tune ECM programming. Calculations would put the power at around 1000HP at full boost.
All modifications were done with the objective of retaining a clean professional look.
This car is very clean and one of a kind and would make a very nice addition to someone’s collection.
